Job Summary:
The Assistant Front Office Manager helps oversee daily operations at the front desk, including managing staff like bellhops, switchboard operators, and front desk agents. They ensure guests are satisfied and that the department meets its financial goals.
Candidate Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED plus two years of guest service experience or
- A 2-year degree in hotel management or a related field with no experience is required.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Keeping Guests Happy:
- Make sure daily operations meet customer expectations.
- Set goals and plans for efficient work.
- Handle complaints and resolve issues.
- Manage staffing levels to meet customer needs and financial goals.
- Communicate with employees regularly about business goals and expectations.
2. Supporting Front Desk Management:
- Led and motivated staff, making good business decisions.
- Build trust and cooperation among team members.
- Act as a role model for good behavior.
- Supervise and manage employees, filling in when needed.
- Foster open relationships within the team.
3. Providing Great Customer Service:
- Go above and beyond to satisfy customers.
- Help staff understand and meet guest needs.
- Address guest problems and complaints.
- Lead by example in customer relations.
- Encourage employees to excel in customer service.
- Give feedback and recognize good service.
4. Managing Projects and Policies:
- Implement customer service programs.
- Train staff on credit policies and selling procedures.
- Supervise front desk operations and ensure policies are followed.
- Administer property policies fairly and consistently.
- Support HR processes like hiring and training.
5. Additional Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
- Analyze information to solve problems.
- Keep everyone informed about relevant information.
- Perform front desk duties when necessary.
- Run front desk shifts as needed.
- Attend department meetings and communicate goals.
